Before You Have A Baby

When is the best to have a baby? Of course when you ar ready for it! But are you sure that you are well prepared for it? Before you think of having a baby, you should make sure you and your husband have accomplished some degree of growth in your marriage and achieved certain goals. Here we have given you a list of things that you might want to do before having a baby or perhaps even while you’re pregnant.

Take a romantic vacation.

You could just take some time off to go for a ‘second honeymoon’ to a romantic place or even in your own bedroom. The purpose is to spend some uninterrupted time together so that both of you can enjoy every minute of being ‘partners’. Make sure that you switch off your phones and shut down your laptops and just relax without any interruption. If you are planning to travel while pregnant, you’ll need to do so in the second trimester, when it is the safest to travel. But, if you have an at-risk pregnancy and cannot travel at all, you should think of locking yourselves in your rooms, cuddling, watching DVDs, and snacking on popcorn. At the end of the day, all that we want is, spend quality time together.

Have lots of sex.

Sex and Intimacy are two main things that keep a marriage exciting. Those who are holding a healthy pregnancy are open to having sex as often as they’d like. If you can do it, then you should go for it rather than keep away from it. Unless you have nausea or exhaustion, which is getting over you. Once the baby arrives, having sex will not be as easy as before. And these cherished moments of intimacy before baby should be relished and enjoyed.

Romance each other.

You need not always have sex to let your spouse know that you love him and that you’re excited about expanding your family. Even the slightest gestures could convey your message. You can always flirt and make romantic gestures and show that this beautiful time in your life is punctuated by the love you give for one another. Read love poems, write love letters, have candlelit dinners, bring each other flowers, anything which could bring a smile and loving feelings to both of you would be sufficient.

Prepare for parenting.

Nothing can actually make you ready for becoming parents. However, you can discuss your strategies to parenting, what you’re concerned about, what you’re looking forward to, and how you’ll train your kids. When you talk about parenting and the changes that are going to come after that, it can help you in relieving your stress and thus make the future appear less mysterious.

Save money.

When you decide about having a baby, you should also think the expense part. Baby will need some serious cash for formula, breast pumps, bottles, furniture, clothing, diapers, etc. As and when he/she grows up, then you will have to throw more money for education, food, tennis lessons, etc. So, you must try to get rid of your debt and make a budget. Try to start saving your money now so that you won’t have to be stressed out in the future.

Talk about big issues.

There will be a number of important issues that a couple has to face. This is the best time to discuss such issues. Most of them tend to avoid these situations. However, it is always best to sort the issues before everything gets out of your control. Get these talks – regarding everything from how to handle the finances and your wishes to establishing rules for the in-laws – out of the way before your child arrives and ends up appearing stuck in the middle of an extra-tense situation. Remain calm and communicate well, and you should get through these discussions without any problem.
